Inspire confident, creative learners through contemporary music.
The Song Room is proud to present our new Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES) program for 2026 – Primary Production. The Song Room’s program is fully-funded for eligible Victorian Government schools. The Song Room can be found on the menu HERE.
Over two immersive days of songwriting and sound production, students in Years 5-6 will work in small groups with industry experts and one of our highly experienced Teaching Artists to compose, produce, and record their own original music.
The program supports diverse learners and includes creative facilitation, school-based resources, and opportunities to share completed songs within the school community.

How the Program Works
- Plan: We meet with your team to align on students’ needs, goals, and logistics. A half day planning window is built into the program to brief creatives and teaching assistants (TAs) and to ensure child safety training is current. Parental consent is coordinated via the school.
- Create: Our creatives lead two immersive days at your school in either Term 2 or 3. Students form small production groups to ideate, write, arrange, record, and polish an original song. Provision is in place for twice exceptional learners.
- Share: Celebrate student achievement – play tracks at an assembly or school event.
“(The Song Room) program has been absolutely brilliant! It has provided an opportunity for ALL students at our school to develop confidence and have success.” Principal, Victoria
Safety, Access & Quality
Child Safety: All team members have VIT registration or a valid WWCC and complete child safety training; the program follows departmental requirements and school policies.
Inclusive Practice: The team adapts to diverse abilities and learning profiles, including twice exceptional students.
Experienced Creatives & TAs: We engage contemporary songwriters and producers, and we prioritise TAs with contemporary music/composition and strong educational experience.
