Find out more about The Song Room

The Song Room is proud to present our new Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series (VCES) program for 2026 - Primary Production. Over two immersive days of songwriting and sound production, students in Years 5-6 will work in small groups with industry experts and one of our highly experienced Teaching Artists to compose, produce, and record their own original music. The program supports diverse learners and includes creative facilitation, school-based resources, and opportunities to share completed songs within the school community.

Each school engages 20 students (4 groups × 5 students).

Do we need specialist equipment?
Our team brings laptops, simple instruments, and production software. We’ll confirm any school based resources during planning.

Yes – while a formal public celebration isn’t required, schools are encouraged to share finished tracks at an assembly or similar event after delivery.

What about permissions and child safety?
Parental consent is coordinated by the school. All creatives and TAs meet child safety requirements.

Will teachers get resources?
ARTS:LIVE access can be provided free to participating teachers upon request, and we run a half day planning/briefing to align on goals and student needs.
