The Song Room | 2024 Year in Review
BUSINESS
PERFORMANCE | A Year of Growth, Impact, and Strategic Investment
The Song Room experienced an outstanding year in 2024, characterised by strong financial performance and significant program growth. Total income increased by 27% compared to 2023, providing
a solid foundation for expansion and deeper impact.
The increase in income translated directly to more programs on the ground, reflecting a growing demand for high-quality arts learning programs. While increased program delivery led to higher expenditure, the organisation achieved a positive result for the sixth consecutive year. Government support was instrumental in enabling this growth. Valuable long-term partnerships remained central to The Song Room’s success.
Rising operational costs placed pressure on the organisation’s overall financial position. Budgeting for essential organisational support remains a challenge, and The Song Room proudly aligns with Philanthropy Australia’s Paying What It Takes initiative to advocate for the sustainable funding of core operational costs. We are deeply grateful to those funders leading with a trust-based philanthropic approach who support organisational capacity building. This helps us remain focused on strategic and careful management of limited resources as we strive for greater impact.
Demand from schools for The Song Room’s programs continues to grow nationwide. With a strong and stable financial foundation, we are well-positioned to respond to this need by delivering sustainable, high-quality arts learning education where it’s most valuable.
