ARIA | Shining a light on music education
The impact of musicians and artists to connect people in 2020 was undisputed, as was pressure on the entire arts and entertainment industry. As co-founders of the Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award we were thrilled that, despite the COVID-19 lockdown, we were able celebrate the incredible work of Australian music teachers at a virtual ARIA award ceremony in November.
The Music Teacher award was as popular as ever with votes
exceeding those received in 2019 to award Sarah Donnelley from Wilcannia Central School the 2020 ARIA. Congratulations to Sarah, the final four ARIA nominees, and to all music teachers across the country who continue to inspire and positively influence their students’ lives.
