Research showed that language barriers and social resistance were lesser issues for refugees and new arrivals taking part in The Song Room programs.

Our programs provide a safe, non-threatening environment for children to easily interact with their peers and their teachers. The culturally influenced program content also helps validate and celebrate children’s ethnic roots in their new school communities.

By being a part of The Song Room programs, children begin to genuinely enjoy school, struggle less with their resettlement and positively share cultural differences with their classmates. These children grow in confidence as the program continues throughout the year.
