Nominations now open for the 2021 ARIA Music Teacher of the Year Award
Do you know a Music Teacher that deserves an ARIA?
It’s time to shine a light on outstanding music teachers from across the country.
The Song Room, Telstra and ARIA are thrilled to announce that nominations for the fifth Telstra ARIA Music Teacher Award are now open!
2020 showed us how important music is to bring joy, connect community and build resilience. By recognising the hard work, creativity and dedication of our amazing music teachers, we highlight the importance of music education to engage students in their learning and enrich their lives.
Last year, Sarah Donnelley, from Wilcannia Central School, in NSW was awarded the 2020 ARIA for helping to harness the communal love of music in her community to bring previously disconnected students back into the classroom.
She was one of four music teachers from across Australia chosen as a nominee for the 2020 award. ARIA Ambassadors Chistine Anu, Brooke Boney, The Veronicas and Jimmy Barnes, teamed up with the nominees to help to tell their stories.
