Primary School Musical, Melbourne Town Hall
When over 1000 students, teachers and parents from communities across Victoria came together for Primary School Musical, the annual Song Room combined schools performance spectacular, at the Melbourne Town Hall in November 2009, it was a perfect illustration of the capacity of the corporate and philanthropic sectors to contribute to the work of schools and change the lives of disadvantaged students.
Performing in front of VIPs, and their parents and friends, students from some of the State’s most disadvantaged schools celebrated the achievement of their year’s work and featured songs from the hit musicals Annie, Oliver, Mary Poppins and Grease.
All of the participating schools were involved in Song Room workshop programs over the course of six months, leading up to this wonderful massed choral and creative movement event. Each school was led and mentored by dedicated Song Room Teaching Artists.
