NGV & Arts Alive

The Song Room and The National Gallery of Victoria have formed a partnership to produce “ARTS ALIVE” for grades 3 and 4 students. Arts Alive comprises a guided tour of some of the gallery’s finest works and a one hour live performance by The Warbles in the Great Hall.

The art works have been chosen according to the country of origin of the repertoire. Teachers are invited to a professional development session at the Gallery where they receive a comprehensive Teachers’ resource pack. This is an opportunity to see some of the works, learn more about The Song Room’s programs and find out ways of incorporating cross-arts experiences in their curriculum.

I can't stress enough the value of such an outting for all the children...but, we also included our "new arrivals" from Africa & Argentina...who struggle with their new life and "home"....but, their faces said it all...so much happiness...makes teaching all worth while."
